My time in GRi11 2.0

Dear future self


GRi11 2.0 has been like a playground there has been so many awesome things to play on.  In GRi11 2.0 i feel like I have grown stronger person because at the end of the year I wouldn't have been able to get up in front of the class and read a speech but last week I actually did that and I am proud of myself for doing that.


The things that were different from learning last year and learning this year are that this year we use computers everyday for everything.  We also have 4 different spaces do work in we have the main area of the classroom which is called the hub.  Then we have the back room called the hangout.  We also have a thing that is like a little hallway called the hall of fame.  And the last room is the hideout.


Some of the awesome things that have happened this year in GRi11 2.0 are When we did TTS aka traditional teaching style.  When we arrived to school there was a sign on the on the door saying GRi11 2.0 does not open until 8:50am.  Then we had to do dictation maths and assigned play.


I have been a College Street Kid by showing the habits of heart every day I
am responsible for charging my iPad every morning because I bring it to school and when I come to school my iPad is on 100% everyday.  I am a happy and healthy CS kid because I do sports rotation every Tuesday.  And I run around all lunch time.  I'm always happy.  I use the habits of mind everyday to help me with my learning I persist when I am given a tough maths Challenge.


I will definitely miss having Miss G and Mr R as my teachers but I'm sure I will see them again.

World of wonders food festival 🌏

In GRi11 2.0 we have been learning about cultural diversity we all have done something to do with taking action some have done it about food about dance and or about sports.   So on Wednesday the 16th of November we are having a cultural day and the IPU drum team are coming.  We have a whole bunch of cultural ideas planed.  Including cultural food, Yoga, sports and dances.  The foods we are having are sushi, fried rice, dumplings, gingerbread men, pizza and stuffed grape leaves. The group I'm in does the organisation for the whole day.

The yoga people are doing different yoga poses to help you relax.  Here's and image.

The performing arts and language group are doing some cultural jump jams for the kids.  They have been practising non stop. 

The sports groups have been learning different sports from Different countries like kabadi soccer football and different sports like that.

🏃‍♀️Athletics Writing🏃

I woke up and took a look at my calendar to see what I was doing today it said in big bright green letters ATHLETICS DAY YAY I ran out to the kitchen and said to mum “ it's athletics day are you coming”.  She said to me yes of course darling I wouldn't miss it for the world.  Good I'm gonna go get ready.  We finally arrived at school.


We sat down on the mat and did the roll and notices then we went out to the tennis court and lined up in our order for athletics.  Athletics Day  is when we have all sorts of sports and we do them all day but we have morning tea at 10:30 am and lunch at 12:30 pm.  Me and my friends like to sit together and eat lunch and morning tea.


The 6 events we have are shot put, sprints, hurdles, long distance, long jump and high jump.  We do 2 every block so we have 2 before morning tea after morning tea and after lunch.  We also have relays but I will tell you about that later.  The first 2 events we had were high jump and shot put.  Then we had long jump and hurdles and last 2 sports we had were sprints and long distance.


We have relays at the end of athletics day and with relays we have 4 teams Takahe, Kea, Weka and Tui.  We have four battens that we run from one cone around the other cone behind the team and pass the baton to the next person.  To get into the relay teams we have a race the 6 people that got their names written down are in the relay team and the other 2 are the reserves if a person is sick they will ask a reserve if they can fill in for them.


At the end of athletics day we pack up and go back to class put our hats away and grab our bags say goodbye to the teachers and go home.

Father's Day writing

In GRi11 2.0 we have been working on our Father's Day writing.  Here is my Father's Day writing.

My Dad Is amazing.  We have great times together.  We have a lot of fun. I love my dad so much ❤️.  He is very kind and lovely.  My dad has dark hair and it is like a browny colour.  He has brown hazel coloured eyes.  He has a job as a painter.  Everyday when he comes home from work he has paint on his hands face legs and arms and he has in his eyes as well. 

 My dad's dad has a dog called Jazz and every time we go to his house he jumps up on us and he gives us scratches and it hurts. Jazz also pees everywhere when we come over.

My dad always wears a hat wherever he goes.  Because when he was little his ears always got sunburnt so he went to the doctor and they said that he will have to wear hats for the rest of his life or the top of his ears would be cut of.

I love you dad so much I hope you have a wonderful Father's Day.❤️

Haiku poem

In GRi11 2.0 we have been doing some haiku poems.  A haiku poem is when the first and last lines have five words and the middle line has seven words here is my haiku poem.

My Role In The Production Is...

In week Ten of Term 2 College Street School is doing a Production called Cinderella and Rockafella.

In the production My role is a dancer and a gymnast.  As a gymnast I am one of the first people on stage and I need to do cartwheels down the side of the stage. As a dancer in the production I am part of a clock and I have a very big role in the dance.

Well enough about My role Lets talk about the production. The production there are heaps of different roles we have Cinderella, Rockafella, ugly sisters, Mirrors and a whole lot of different roles. Even the boys From GRi11 2.0 room 9 and 20 are doing are jump jam.

There are some talent acts like Gymnasts, juggler, and a few other acts. I am very exited about the production I am bouncing of the walls. It is going to be a really fun two nights.

This video is about my sign language.  The reason I made this video was because it was sign language week. I learnt how to do this from a website that my teachers found and it has all the letters and the signs for the letters.

GRi11 2.0 fast track

In GRi11 2.0 we use something called fast track.  We use it to keep track of or work.  The reason it is called fast track is because its fast to track.  Every week we will have a range of different tasks.  We have LITERACY, INTERGRATION, MATHS and OTHER.  We have a week to finish them. We have our names and the tasks that we need to finish. Once we have finished a task we have to put in the link and fill in the box green to know that we are done.

Sometimes at the end of the week we won't have finished everything , and sometimes we have to stay in at lunch and finish the tasks.  These are some of the tasks we have.  Blog post, writing, shared reading, inquiry,  studyladder, mathletics, problem solving and sometimes we will have spelling.

We have a timetable in our book that we write down in what we did and what time we did it.  Every half an hour we either have a different task or we stay on the same one.  We can access fast track in google classroom in GRi11 2.0 home page.  We use google classroom for our learning.

I do recommend other schools use google classroom.  We have google classroom because it is easy to access and each student will get a copy of the work that is set.  So we don't need to make a copy of the work.
